WIMB CIC AT 5, IMBOLC, AND OUR NEW ADVISORY PANEL

Five years of Women in Media Belfast CIC and counting.

We thought that was worth celebrating, and our anniversary coincides with the ancient Celtic festival of Imbolc so we gathered upstairs in the Sunflower bar to mark festivities, eat Boxing Hare Pizza, and cake, and make St Brigid’s crosses. It’s a time of renewal, and are working on our board, so we would like to introduce our new advisory panel.

Our wonderful team includes: Aiken PR’s Alison Knox; UTV journalist Carol Jordan; U105 station director Peter McVerry; Belfast Telegraph assistant news editor Flavia Gouveia; and tech lawyer Jude Copeland.

If you have any questions or want to collaborate us please get in touch.

With gratitude

Team WIMB CIC

WIMB CIC ADVISORY PANEL BIOS

Alison Knox is a seasoned PR professional with over 15 years’ experience in the communications industry. She has worked across both corporate and consumer PR, with a particular specialism in the arts. Throughout her career, Alison has held both agency and in-house roles, working with a number of high-profile Irish companies and brands, as well as some of Northern Ireland’s best-known arts organisations and festivals. She specialises in developing and delivering integrated consumer and digital campaigns. Having managed several major all-island campaigns, Alison brings extensive knowledge of the media landscape and strong media relationships, which she uses to create targeted media strategies that deliver impact. She is passionate about supporting and championing women in media and the arts, mentoring emerging talent, and fostering inclusive opportunities across the industry.

Carol Jordan has worked at UTV since 2022, after two decades in London where she worked for ITN, NBC News and CNN. Passionate about women's issues, social inequality and positive change, she is equally interested in the changing media landscape and audiences. She's also old enough to want to help develop the younger generation of journalists through mentoring and support.
