CONOR MCCULLAGH is QUB’s digital communications officer. He  is a communications professional with over a decade of experience in public and academic sectors. He spent 10 years with the Communications Team at Belfast City Council, followed by 2 years with the Strategic Communications Team at Queen’s University. Conor is passionate about storytelling through visual content, using creative media to engage audiences and bring messages to life.

CONNOR MCKERNAN is QUB’s visual content producer. He brings over a decade of experience working as a self-shooting PD and photographer across a variety of media platforms from traditional broadcast, social media and digital marketing. Connor is passionate about using media to give a voice to communities and retains a strong passion for social news journalism and arts and culture across the island of Ireland.

FIONA MACINTYRE is in her final year of studying History at Queen’s University Belfast. She has been the Deputy Station Manager of Queen’s Radio for the past two years. In her spare time she loves watching any Robin Williams or Queen Latifah movie.

JESS DONOHUE from County Galway, is in her second year studying Media and Broadcast Production at Queen’s University Belfast, where she is developing skills in journalism, media, and production. She currently serves as Northern Ireland’s Regional Officer for the Student Radio Association (SRA), is a member of Queen’s Radio, and sometimes contributes to The Gown, the university’s student newspaper. These roles have given her valuable early experience in both broadcasting and freelance journalism. Over the past year, Jess has also taken part in Women in Media Belfast events, further strengthening her passion for the industry. She has a particular interest in current affairs and politics, alongside a long-term ambition to work as a reporter on the Formula One grid, an area where female representation remains limited. Her enthusiasm for journalism began at 16, when she took part in an episode of a Media Literacy podcast during work experience with Galway Bay FM. Outside of her studies, Jess enjoys fitness, cooking, and music. She is excited to be part of the events team for this occasion and looks forward to connecting with others in the media industry.

KATELYN MALLARD is currently studying photography and cinematography at Belfast Met E3 Studios. She is passionate about capturing the emotions of events and telling meaningful stories through images. Aspiring to further develop a career in sports photography, she enjoys watching sports and believe this path will allow her to combine a creative vision with personal interests. She also hopes to inspire more women to pursue careers in sports photography and contribute to greater representation within the industry.

LEAGH DONNELLY is currently studying photography and cinematography at Belfast Met, where she has gained a wide range of practical experience over the past few years. Most recently, she worked as a photographer at Belfast Zoo, where she was responsible for capturing a variety of images in a dynamic environment. She has also covered events in a candid photography style, including work at the MAC, and has experience in both television and live event production. This includes taking stills for TV shows such as The Kelly Show and providing live video coverage for the RTS Awards Show during the same period. She is passionate about documenting events in a candid way that tells a story and captures the atmosphere, and is looking forward to bringing that approach to WIM 25. and celebrating women in media.

ROSE KELLY from Co Down is a Masters Liberal Arts student at Queen’s University Belfast. Throughout four years of studies she has taken various modules involving journalism. Broadcast journalism has now become her pathway. She is interested in media and content creation, so looks forward to using and building on skills at WIM 25.

ROSEANNA GILMORE recently pivoted from the education sector to the realms of media and production. In her roles as a teacher and department lead for Philosophy and Ethics, she worked hard to embed women's stories and issues into the curriculum - addressing topics such as reproductive rights, domestic abuse and FGM. In 2021, she helped facilitate a workshop for senior students with author Laura Bates, exploring themes of sexism, misogyny, and harassment within schools. She is now ready to take this work beyond the classroom, using media as a platform to broaden her perspective, engage new audiences, and contribute to meaningful social change.  Within the last few years, Roseanna has served as a representative of integrated education on both BBC Radio Ulster’s Talk Back and BBC Radio Foyle’s North West Today. A passion for storytelling is at the heart of all her endeavours. In the summer of 2024, Roseanna completed a six-week acting course at The Barrow Group in New York City, which allowed her to hone her skills as a performer both on stage and on camera. At present she works part-time as a food tour guide for Belfast’s Taste and Tour, delivering engaging, informative tours which showcase local cuisine, culture and history. Roseanna has recently begun her master’s degree in Media and Broadcast Production at Queen’s University Belfast. She aspires to build a career as a presenter and reporter, seeking to marry her creative energy with projects that empower communities and amplify unheard voices.

SHONAGH GILL is a Media, Broadcast & Production masters student at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 2025, with a passion for storytelling, digital media, and amplifying diverse voices. Over the course of her studies, Shonagh has developed skills in media production, communication, and creative collaboration, which she continues to refine through both academic and professional opportunities. Shonagh looks forward to connecting with and learning from inspiring industry figures at what will be an empowering and innovative space for dialogue.

AND last but not least…

SOPHIE BLEAKLEY from Belfast is studying MA Media and Broadcast Production. Having graduated this summer from the University of Liverpool, with a first-class degree in Media and Communication; this year she is eager to fine tune practical skills within the media sector. Alongside writing a dissertation which explored Lisa McGee's 'Derry Girls' as a transnationally legible mediation of memory, she worked as a content creator for the University of Liverpool's sports sector. She is a receipieetn of the 'Digital Engagement Award' for her role as a social media secretary for UOLFoxes. Her position within the society enabled her to perform as a 'fake auditionee' dancer at a Britain's Got Talent taping in Manchester; an experience that spiked her curiosity with all things film and TV! The position came with many transferable skills and helped her secure her current position as a content creation intern for Queen's Students' Union.

We will be supported on site by a range of QUB staff, and we can’t forget Jawbox Gin’s Gerry White who will be serving his delicious apple and ginger gin liqiuer.
